" From global challenges of climate change and energy conservation
to local planning issues, environmental decision making is
becoming increasingly important to everyone. The Environmental
Decision Making (EDM) postgraduate programme was established
to meet the challenges of environmental decision making in the
context of a changing world. It is designed to meet the needs of
specialists, managers and the public " The Open University.
Gardens for most people, are the frontline ( so to speak ) with their
natural environment. So gardens play a crucial role in helping
re-develop greater diversity and more sustainable habitats, for all.
Above is a community garden project we designed for the
Aberfeldy Breadalbane Academy. It was their desire to create an
educational community garden ' Food for Thought ' to aid in
developing awareness and improved approaches towards land use
practices and in particular - Horticulture and Agriculture.
Other projects such as Innerleithen have pioneered a
domestic grey water re-use system which allows underground
